…Even our heart suffers and pains
is fully occupied and “drifted” by love
and with bouzouki and guitars
sings softly and sweet like a bird…

15th International Seminar-Meeting on the rebetiko July, 14-21, 2024 Skyros Island

Dear friends,

This year’s musical meeting at 15th rebetiko seminar in Skyros 14-21/7/2024 once again successfully completed its destination, highlighting at the same time the immense need to continue our effort. We unfolded our hearts together, forgetting for a while our worries and various concerns. We used the vehicle of our folk music and communicated, sang, enlightened our eyes and our hearts and our communication transferred us to forgotten paths of joy. The main tool was the genre of rebetiko music, which took us in its hug and traveled us… without unnecessary burden. Rebetiko gave us promises for the future, which always keeps and takes us in its protection using the same remedy for years now, healing our wounds. Let’s be well and get together again… because the rebetiko meeting of Skyros is the case of all of us and the fact of the presence of many young and good musicians this year arms us with courage and strength. Rebetiko is an important part of our identity.

… don’t forget to smile.

Be well, George and Spiros
