…Even our heart suffers and pains
is fully occupied and “drifted” by love
and with bouzouki and guitars
sings softly and sweet like a bird…

Dear friends,

The 13th International Seminar-meeting on rebetiko song will take place in Skyros Island, 17-24 July 2022. Responsible for the lessons is the musician Spyros Goumas. Responsible for administration is George Makris. Our supporters for this activity are, as always, the Folklore Museum “Manos and Anastasia Faltaits” and the PE.A.P of Skyros Municipality, the Skyros Shipping Co. (SNE) and the local community of Skyros island which welcome us in their hospitable places and altogether enjo the beautiful journey of our rebetiko music. The seminar-meeting together with the parallel and open to the public events is an institution, which exceeds the limits of the Greek territory. Its range reaches Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, Turkey, Cyprus, Finland, UK, France, Netherlands, Israel, etc. Moreover, the seminar preserves and promotes the value of rebetiko song as one of the main diachronic components of our urban civilization. Its timeless value brings new data to our music, contributing to the creative abilities and improvement of new musicians and their musical expression especially after the recognition and registration of Rebetiko in the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, December 2017.The voluntary effort of our team is based on our love for musical tradition, which enriches us with enthusiasm, passion and power to overcome many daily difficulties.
